Internet Apartment is run by Vaibhav Pathak, an individual, and is the data controller for anything described here. This page explains exactly what the site collects and who else touches it.
You can walk the entire building without signing in or being tracked. I run no analytics, no advertising pixels, and no third-party trackers.
The one thing that happens automatically: to light the sky for roughly the right time of day, the server reads the coarse location my host attaches to your request, or, failing that, looks your IP address up against ipwho.is. This resolves to a city, not an address. The result is used to compute sunrise and sunset and is not stored in the database.
Accounts are handled by Clerk, which stores your credentials and session. From Clerk I store, in my own database:
Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, which acts as merchant of record. Your card details go to them, never to me. I never see or store a card number.
On my side I store the order, what was bought, the amount, and the payment status. To satisfy tax rules, the checkout also passes on the country and postal code that my host derives from your connection.
This is a public building, so ownership is public. Every visitor can see, for anything you own:
Your email address is never shown to other visitors. If you would rather not be identifiable, change your display name to something that is not your real name before you buy.
Pictures and videos you upload are stored on Cloudflare R2 and served publicly through this site. Image metadata such as EXIF is stripped on upload, so location data embedded in a photo is not published. Anything visible in the image itself is, of course, still visible.
I do not sell your data, and I do not share it for advertising.
Account and ownership records are kept while your account exists, because they are what makes the apartment yours. Payment records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require. If you delete your account, your personal data is removed and anything you owned returns to inventory.
You can ask me to show you the data I hold on you, correct it, delete it, or export it. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to object to processing or complain to a data protection authority.

This site is not intended for anyone under 13, and I do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, please email me and I will delete it.
